Happy Birthday to the Newest Teenager!

It's so hard to believe it has been thirteen years since my youngest daughter gave birth, to her daughter.

 Because her Mommy is a diabetic, she was an 8lb 9oz preemie. This sweet baby, is the joy of my daughter's life and mine.

She has celebrated firsts:

She grew:

..... celebrated holiday's

..she was silly,

..and serious

..she learned

....and grew into a beautiful young woman,

..who is loved by all,

To my Sweet Angel on her thirteenth birthday,

I hope you always remember how much you are loved.
I hope you always remember to champion for the underdog.
I hope you laugh more than you cry.
I hope you love, not hate.
I hope you always look for the good in other's.
I hope you always reach for the star's because, with hard work, anything is possible.
I hope you always turn to your family if you have a problem, knowing we will always be here for you.
I hope you laugh at yourself when you are not perfect. Laughter can be the best medicine in life.
I hope " I am Sorry" rolls easily off your tongue.
I hope you are always a leader, not a follower. You know what is right, stick with your morals and   convictions, do not let peers sway you.

Hello friends!

Hi, My name is Shawn and I have been neglecting my blog!

Yes, I must confess I am a blog neglecter.. that isn't a word!

I can not use the excuse that I have been too busy, was on an extended vacation, life threw me a curve ball, work has been hectic...Nope..No Excuse!

I have enjoyed reading you blogs and making comments. I have enjoyed my trips through Face Book, keeping up with my family and friends. I have enjoyed Dogs with Blogs and Parents. Actually, I have posted on my other two blogs more frequently...and maybe that is the problem. Too many blogs..not enough bright ideas.

For now, just a quick update:

Summer is flying by..where is the time going?  The Grand Kids come over  Wednesday nights as often as they can....as they grow older, their schedules get busier.

There have been a few festivals in Loveland  but we missed my favorite, The Cherry Pie Festival, last weekend.  Last Saturday our sweet little mancat, Cecil, was diagnosed with Pancreatitis..you can read about it here.  he is much better now but he gave us quite a scare.

We did make it to the Loveland Summer Fest.

There were several vendors.

There was music at the lagoon all day, ranging from bluegrass to rock.

Winston enjoyed his first SummerFest

I have been training for my Marathon....when I started I wondered how I would ever run the miles.
Last Saturday I ran/walked 20 miles..you can read about that here! Was it hard..Oh yes, but what a thrill when it was over! I can not wait to do the marathon in October!


We have enjoyed our family, our Fur babies and the wonderful hot summer! I don't know about you, but our area has experienced more thunder storms than usual.  Our newest, Winston, is freaked out by the thunder boomers. He shakes so hard it breaks my heart. Last week I ordered a Thunder shirt which is supposed to help with his fear. I will keep you posted!

Yes, I just got tagged by my friend Rainbow @ Rainbow's Daily Life, and I want to thank her for thinking of me. If you have not met her, stop by and get to know one of the sweetest spirits this side of Heaven!

For the last few weeks I have been neglecting my blogs and this will give me a chance to get in the swing of things again. Now, I have to answer a few questions and then pass the fun to others!

1.   Do you think you are hot?

      Today, my answer is NO!  I am sitting in the condo with the AC running and I feel very comfortable.
      Last week, when I was in Loveland, my answer would have been much different. We do not have AC
      and with baseboard water heating, we can not just add a unit for air conditioning.

2.   Upload a picture or wallpaper you are using at this moment.

3.  When was the last time you ate chicken?

     The last time I ate chicken was last night, Sunday, and it was the Texan Chicken which we buy at
     King Soopers (Kroger) in the butcher department.  Hubby does not like chicken because he worked at a
     packing plant when he was eighteen and from the stories he tells, I would not like it either. The chicken
     from Kings, which is stuffed with cheese and wrapped in bacon, is the only chicken he can tolerate.

4.   What was the last song you listened to?

       I was just visiting Donna @ The House on the Corner and she shared this video of the song Love Has 
       Come by Mark Schulz. I hope you enjoy it as much as I did.
       




5.  What were you thinking while doing this?
     
      I was thinking that the vacuum is calling my name!


6.   Do you have any nicknames? What are they?
     
      When I was younger, my Dad called me Bubble Butt ( I do not know why??). My Grandmother 
      always called me Dolly and I can still hear her voice when I think about her. My brothers used to call  
      me Sissy.  My favorite nicknames are Mom and Nana!
