Corned Beef and Hodgepodge
Here are the questions for this week's Hodgepodge...thanks for playing along!
Answer the questions on your own blog then come back here tomorrow (Wednesday) to link your answers with the rest of the internets.
1. What would you do if you found a pot of gold? Let's pretend this pot of gold is worth exactly $1500 (which would actually be more like a cup of gold at current values). Anyway, let's also pretend you have to spend it as opposed to making a donation someplace. Now tell me what you would do with that
cup
pot of gold?
If I had $1500, and could not donate any of it..even a little ( I would like to give it to Japan, they need it more than I do!), and if I had to spend it on myself..I would pay off my American Express bill. Until the last few months (maybe right before Christmas) , I had not carried a credit balance for years and years. Do not ask me what happened but I now have a small balance that needs to be paid off! I DESPISE having a balance on a Credit Card..I think this accrued from buying at COSTCO! With the remaining money I would pay $$$ Hubby to stay away from Costco! He likes to go for snacks on Saturday's but it costs me mucho $$$ before we get out of there!

2. Do you celebrate St. Patrick's Day in any way, shape, or form?
We do not have a set celebration for St. Patty's Day. In the past we have gone to my Daughter's for diner, gone to the parade, gone dancing or just stayed home. This year we are going to my dear friend's house for a dinner of corned beef and cabbage. We have been invited to DF's house for the last few years..good food and conversation, with good friends...Now, that is a Celebration!

3. Have you been bitten by the Spring Cleaning bug? What spring cleaning job most needs doing at your house? What spring cleaning job are you most dreading?
Is there a spring cleaning bug??!! Call the Exterminator!!!!!!
I need to clean drawers and cupboards..but heck, if I can be outside I would rather do that..the clutter will always be there!

4. lime-shamrock-sage-forest...your favorite shade of green?
My favorite shade of green would be sage, for a color in the house, or lime for a Margarita or Key Lime Pie!
5. Thomas Jefferson once said, "I'm a great believer in luck, and I find the harder I work, the more I have of it." So...do you believe in luck or do you believe we make our own luck?
I think we make our own luck. Now some of my coworkers may disagree, they like to gamble, and think they have good luck. In that sense, I do not have good luck..I can not see wasting my money going to the casinos. On the other hand, I have great Luck..wonderful Hubby, great family of children and grandchildren, we attend a great church, I have a good job, a comfortable home, enough to eat..is that LUCK!!?? Probably not, we have worked hard to reach this place in our life.
6. Monday (3/14) was Pi Day. Get it? Pi =3.14. Those math types are so clever aren't they? Since I'm not one of them tell me what's your favorite piE (the edible kind).
My favorite Pie is CHERRY with vanilla ice cream!
My favorite festival in our city is
7. That same date (3/14) happens to be the birthdate of the late physicist Albert Einstein. I bet he knew the value of Pi. So...what do you think is more important and or valuable in life... intelligence or common sense?
In my book, common sense will win out every time. I have known people that were very bright but did not have the common sense to get out of the rain!
8. Insert your own random thought here.
First, this goes without saying...Keep Japan in your Prayers!

I will leave you with this Irish Blessing:

I will leave you with this Irish Blessing:
May the road rise to meet you,
May the wind be always at your back,
May the sun shine warm upon your face,
The rains fall soft upon your fields and,
Until we meet again,
May God hold you in the palm of His hand.

Great responses Shawn...it's always fun to read about the person behind the blog. Loved the response to the Spring cleaning bug!
ReplyDeleteJust having a catch up on your posts that I missed while I was stuck in rural France...thank you for visiting me and leaving me a comment...I thoroughly appreciated it.
I really like these little shamrocks dropping down like confetti on your blog...my blog looks so dull in comparison.
Your final thought is beautiful.
Warmest wishes
