Homecoming!

Our Family has reached a new Milestone, Miss E's first Homecoming!

I remember Homecoming when I was in High School. We wore skirts and sweaters and our dates bought us huge Mum corsages, that is IF you were asked to the dance.  Back in my day, No Date...meant you stayed home and did not experience the Homecoming Dance. Many girls, including myself, spent at least one year sitting home longing for a boyfriend.    Thank goodness times have changed!!!!!

Now, everyone can attend the dance!

Miss E was the event planner for her group of friends. This organized young woman wrote a timeline, made dinner reservations and asked her girlfriends to meet at her house to get ready so the day would go smoothly. They laughed, put on their makeup, fixed their hair and laughed some more. These young ladies were transformed into beautiful Princesses, all in stunning dresses with jewelry, and shoes, to compliment their outfits!  Imagine getting a group of teenage Girl's ready, and out the door, for pictures...They did it..On TIME!

After they finished Primping, we walked to the park where the other parents met us for a Photo Shoot. After pictures, they were off to the Olive Garden for their pre-dance dinner.  Only two of these girls had dates, the others were just enjoying being girlfriends without the pressure of a Date! How refreshing to see these lovely ladies having the time of their lives, making special memories.

Yep, that's me..trying to grow my hair out gray and having a tough time with the process!
I can not wait to hear how the night went for the lovelies!

  1. We don't have homecoming dances here. The big dance is Prom when all the girls get together at one house to get ready and then the picture taking with the dates. I don't even remember homecoming dances when I was in high school. Anyway, it looks like everyone was ready for a fun time! So pretty...especially the second one from the right. :)

  2. Oh how adorable. Thanks for sharing these wonderful pictures. All those girls are so young and beautiful. Love seeing Mom and Dad and your hair looks great. I tried to go gray for a year but it was so salt and peppery so I just put some henna on last week. Henna doesn't cover gray just adds a little zest. Ha

  3. I am old enough to remember the corsages and must have date dances. Only my freshman year did I not go...guess I was lucky? HA

I am glad times have changed!
    Lovely photos.

  4. What a fun evening. I am glad those times have changed. I just sat home too. It is nice to see the girls in fairly modest dresses too. Your granddaughter is beautiful.

  5. Awww this was the sweetest thing ever!!! It appears that "Miss E" takes after her Grandmother with her organization skills!!

I am like you, we wore sweaters/skirts and received mums, well I should say THEY did. I was always home without a date.

I love what the young people do now, they go anyway!! As it should be!

  7. Wow what fun. We don't have Homecoming here either, there is the Prom at the end of they school year, and during the Winter Break, there is a Winter dance. Looks like she had a great time and I agree, that I'm glad you no longer need a date to go to these dances. Everyone should have fun!

  8. We don't have anything like homecoming or prom here. There is a Deb ball though. I have no idea what happens with those as I have boys & so far neither has shown any interest in them.
Miss E looks beautiful in her dress. That colour really suits her.

  10. She's adorable! I bet she had a great time too. I spend all my time lightening my hair for some reason instead of gray its turning a weird dark brown with gray highlights. Your hair looks great.
