Thirty days of Thanks

November 15th

I am Thankful that I have Monday's off work, especially after the very busy, jam packed, weekend that we had.

Like I posted, I went to a running workshop on Saturday and was up early, out of the house by 7am and did not return until 5pm. Yesterday we left the house at 9:45 for Church, then went to the Rockette's performance and did not get home until 4pm.  So today, I want to rest and not do all the running around..although, Hubby is trying to talk me into going to Costco..he just wants the snacks!   : ))

I  just want to catch up with some reading and take a nap!

Meet Me On Monday hosted by Java

From Java's Blog Never Growing Old:

Blogging is a funny thing...we tell our most intimate thoughts for all to read and yet most of the time I find myself sitting and wondering, "who is this person!?"  I know them...but yet I don't know them!  I want to know who the person is behind all those words so I thought of a great way for all of us to "meet" each other!

Questions:

1.  Do you eat Sushi?
2.  What kind of bath soap do you use?
3.  How often do you talk to your Mom?
4.  What TV shows do you watch on a regular basis?
5.  Did you start Christmas shopping yet?

My Answers:

1. Yes, I eat Sushi but not very often. To tell the truth, I can take it or leave it!

Chopsticks And Sushi
I like Shrimp and California Rolls!
2.  I use any soap that is on sale but recently bought a large quantity of Irish Spring from Costco.

3.  I talk to my Mom in prayers but she passed  5 years ago. Before she died, in a car accident, I talked to her at least 5 times a week.

Mardele, just two days before she died. Boy, what a good time we had!

4.  I watch Biggest Loser and The Event.

TV

I like this cute TV!
5.  No, I have not started Christmas shopping. I know what we will be sending to out of state family but we are going to cut back on the shopping for Colorado peeps.  We always do something special for the Colorado Grand Kiddo's. We have a  separate boys, and girls, day out and pick something special for them. Last year we took the boy's to the Harlem Globe Trotter's and we gave the girls a choice on what they wanted to do.  Believe it or not, they only wanted to spend the night and have a baking fest.  In years past the girls always wanted to go to the mall and paint pottery and get a manicure, so go figure, last year they just wanted to bake!

I have always wanted to have a Christmas From The heart, where the only present you could give would be a homemade one. Although my kids are crafty, I have not talked them into that!

What really starts the holidays for us is the annual Cookie Day. We have been doing this since the first Gand child was born!

The Four Colorado Girls..missing Kelly and Wendy!
Part of Santa's Cookie helpers.

Too much fun!!
Where are the younger boys?

Today I went to a Chi Running Workshop. The weather forecast was for cold temps with possible snow flurries in the afternoon. Thank you  Mother Nature for spearing the snow flurries. Although cold in the morning, our afternoon runs were great with a blue sky and the sun shining.

Today is my youngest Grand daughter's Birthday.  Happy Birthday to Miss Sarah.
Happy 5th Birthday

Today I am also Thankful for living close to my Grandchildren which gives me the opportunity to follow their sports, dancing, plays and band programs. Thursday night we attended Emma's play and today she, and her dance team, will perform sometime, before or after, the Rockette's  performance.
The Evil Queen.....doesn't look to evil to me!!
There are so many things I am thankful for that it is hard to narrow it down every day!

Thank you Donna from The House on the Corner, for giving me a Stylish Blogger Award! It was quite a surprise and greatly appreciated!

Thirty days of Thanks

Day 12,

Today is Friday, the twelfth day of November 2010 and I am thankful for:

It is Friday, the day that Hubby and I reconnect after My work week. Today I am thankful for the wonderful smell when I came home from work.   Hubby had made his famous Spaghetti with Sausage and red sauce! The smell of garlic permeated the house and the pots were simmering on the stove. Now, this is not an every friday occurrence, so this was a very special treat!
He did not know that I was capturing this moment!
What a Sweetie!
He said "Don't take a picture of me!"
Thank you, my dear Hubby, for surprising me with a yummy spaghetti dinner after a long day at work!

Thirty days of Thanks

Eleventh Day of Thanks

The local, late night, news predicted snowfall and a rough commute to work for the greater Denver area this morning. Although I do not have to work this morning, I have a hair appointment ( lucky me, my daughter is a Stylist) and a lot of errands to take care of.  Last night, I was a little concerned on what I would wake up to this morning.

Today I am thankful that we are getting the much needed moisture.

I love that I see the FLAG  out my kitchen window!

So far, just a light dusting of snow!
So sad, the Pool and Hot Tub.

Oh My, seven things about me:

1.  I was born, and raised, in Phoenix, Arizona and will always consider myself a Desert Rat.

2.  I have six adult children, four I gave birth to, five I raised and my birth daughter found me in May!
She is the reason I started blogging!  I also added four more adult children when I married Hubby.
Boy that is a confusing story!

3.  Speaking of Hubby, we met a local Country Dance Club where he swept me off my feet and taught me all the dance moves I know! We have been married nine years and together we have twenty-two Grandchildren.

4.  I am an RN in an Out Patient Surgery Center.

5.  I can be stubborn and when I set my mind to something..it is all over until I achieve it,
do it, buy it..whatever it!!!

6.  I am not as frugal as I should be but I have a hubby that is very frugal and he keeps me in check!

7.  I love to laugh, spend time with family, grow in my spiritual life, train for my marathon and enjoy a good glass of wine!

Oh Oh, that was more than 7.

Now it is my turn to Pay it Forward! It is so hard to pick just 15 but here goes.

Ok, that is fifteen and to tell you the truth, I could have added many more. I have read so many wonderful blogs and it is a treat getting to know everyone through their writing!
