Congratulations Miss E !!!

Just call me a Proud Nana!

This is my granddaughter, Miss E!

Last night, this beautiful young woman

received a letter in swimming!

Not only did she get her letter, she received an award for being an athlete with a high GPA! That is our Miss E!!!

Sweetie,

You are an amazing young woman who is just beginning to experience new interests. We know you had to make a difficult decision about dancing but, after seeing the growth in you this year, we know you made the right choice.

We are so proud of you!

Ash Wednesday, the beginning of Lent! Almost Wordless Wednesday

Today begins the season of Lent a time of sacrifice, repentance and preparation for Easter.

While surfing Facebook yesterday, I saw a notice from the leader of the youth ministry at church. He will not post on the the church Facebook page for the next 40 days. Yes friends, he gave up Facebook for Lent. I commend him.

Fat Tuesday..Shrove Tuesday..National Pancake Day

Today is Shrove Tuesday, or fat Tuesday, a day of indulgence. It is always the day before Ash Wednesday, the beginning of the Lenten season, traditionally known as a time of abstinence.

I read pancakes were served on this day because they contained the fat, and yummy goodness, that would be forbidden during Lent.

Well, heck, I like fat, yummy goodness...and because it's National Pancake Day, Fat Tuesday and Shrove Tuesday all rolled into one, I gave up my gluten free diet and INDULDGED!
