New Year, New Plan!
The Becker's have decided to embrace a new Lifestyle change. We hope, and pray, that Bill can get off the Statin drugs and for an improvement in my Fibromyalgia, which has become progressively worse this past year.
For the last month, we have been reading, watching documentaries, researching and praying for a means to a new, healthier lifestyle. We have talked to Vegetarians, Vegans, and those using a Gluten free diet. We have weighed the pro's and con's, discussed and cussed, to come up with a plan that is doable for our family.
At the very least, we will enjoy a vegetarian lifestyle and work towards a vegan way of life.
We will take this slowly but commit for at least six months,
We will give up all refined sugars and delete processed foods from our life.
We chose to exclude beef, chicken and fish from our diet.
At this time, we have not made a final decision on dairy products. We do not drink milk but use it in cooking or baking. We enjoy cheese but have decided to put that on the Do Not Eat list!. We eat eggs but, if we continue, will only eat those that come from a neighbor's chickens.
We have been drinking soy, almond or coconut milk for the last few years. Sadly, I will be giving up my beloved ice cream but I can make a substitute in my blender.
The one thing I am not willing to give up is a good glass of wine! There are limits you know!
Through this blog, I will have accountability for what may be a difficult transition. I hope to share some good recipes and keep you posted on our progress. I ask for your prayers, we will need strength to follow this new path.

Merry Christmas
I have neglected my blog for the last month to give family, work and life center stage!
One of my many resolutions for the new year is to set aside time to devote to my blogs and learn some time management skills!!
Another new adventure is a change in diet! Not that I have unhealthy habits, but I do crave sweets and snacks. For the last few weeks Hubby and I have been reading, researching, questioning and discussing ways to ensure we are treating our bodies as temples, not garbage cans! I will keep you posted as we get closer to a decision and plan. We have picked January 1st as our New Lifestyle Day...stay tuned!
I hope you are enjoying your Holiday Season!
I wish my friends a Happy Hanukkah, Dec. 20th
...a Blessed Solstice Dec. 21
....a Merry Christmas Dec. 25
Wishing you a Blessed Holiday and Prayers for a Happy, Healthy 2012!
I will leave you with one of my favorite Christmas songs! Actually, this is a song for all seasons.
