Thirty days of Thanks

November 16, 2010

Today I am thankful for the Health of my Granddaughter, Summer, and her baby which is due in late May or early June!  Last night I saw the pictures of the Ultrasound and I have grabbed them from her Mom's blog and will add it to this!
You see, Wendy, my birth daughter, located me in May. With my daughter, came a whole new family and Summer is the oldest of five!
Our Reunion! My daughter, Amber in the back and white stripe, me and the Skousen family!

Summer and Autumn..Two Amazing Women!
The little Bambino on the right!
The little cutie !
I must admit that when I first heard Summer was expecting, I got a twinge in my stomach!  I am going to be a Great Nana...at first I wanted to Shout...No, I can't be a Great Nana...I am too Y O U N G!!!!
That lasted a very short minute..then I thought HOW COOL IS THAT!!! A new life will be coming into this world, a new little being to love and we will start a new chapter in this book of Family!

  4. Well, I wasn't ready for being a great GREAT grandma either but knew it was bound to happen sooner or later! Babies are wonderful and especially when there's that family connection. You have been quite overwhelmed this year with one surprise after another but you have managed to take it all in stride--which means lengthening your stride!! :)

  5. Dawna,
I am so thankful to be included in your family and for being able to experience this joyous time in our lives. Yes, there have been so many surprises this year and, for the last six months, I have felt the emotional roller coaster! Again, I do not want to intrude on your family but now that I have met you, and feel a connection to Wendy and her family, I want to shout it from the roof top...My Questions Are Bring Answered!!

  6. You certainly haven't and won't ever intrude on our family. We're so happy the connection was finally made and just wish we all lived closer and could get to know the rest of your family.
